Quantel Fixture Disaster!!!

UmpHump

Comrades all,

It is with great regret that I must inform you that our fave fixture is off – or at least – CHANGED BEYOND ALL RECOGNITION.

Quantel sadly have battled with the ground and now have a back log of fixtures – this means that Duffer fixtures get dropped. That’s us and others by the way. It’s not Rogg’s fault but it’s life.

So… uh… what are we going to do?

The board of commissars, under high pressure from myself, Premier Yuri Pedeez, feel we should do something on that date or the next day, the Saturday. This could be:

  • Convince Quantel to play in Regent’s Park or similar (But their team may not be available)
  • Have a 20/20 with another team – VCC re-match?
  • Field Practice game:
    • A full team turn-out
    • Each batsman stays in (whether out or not) for 3-4 overs
    • He can make runs with opposing batsman, but they return to ground
    • Wickets, catches, stumping count against him
    • Full fielding side, bowlers taken some-how from a pool.

So comrades, Please let us know if you want to do? – A Friday or Saturday on Friday 13th July or Saturday 14th.

SCC 2012 Fixtures list

Linseed, mmmmm

My comrades, so many apologies I must heap upon the silence of the last few months. But i have had to deal with poop and only now do I feel worthy enough to rise up and provide you with some deal of premiership worth something more than not much at all! I stand before you, humble, as humble in quantity as Simon Cowell stands in arrogance before the world’s stage – so that’s really quite humble.

However, whilst the world was turning and mine was weaving, I did manage to get together the fixtures list for this year and that will follow. But first some other things of note:

  1. Comrade Commissar, Soldya Grandma (Dan March) will be on the telephone to you very soon for your subs. It’s changed this year, remember? You did read the minutes didn’t you, comrade? £40.00 is membership. Half goes immediately to charity – Royal Marsden and Parkinson’s . The other pays for all of the fun that has to get organised, the phone calls, the admin, the website, the stress, the preparing of orders for kit!!
  2. A full outline of this years Commissars is coming and their duties, so comrades, make use of them!
  3. Website improvements looming – Greater interaction, more pictures, comments etc.
  4. Kit design debate to be had.
  5. Inaugural drinks for 2012 – When, comrades. When?
  6. Outdoor nets begin very soon.
  7. Possible Lord’s training TBC.

But let’s go to this year’s fixtures list: PLEASE SEE EVENTS FOR LATEST NEWS – NOT THIS!

Well oiled – Update for Date with Quantel

Linseed, mmmmm

I am oiling my bat. The news so far…

Quantel want a re-match, all on them again. That is, they pay for our accommodation too and a big food fest – we must them a nice present!!! A Friday in JULY [correction from initial post, sorry!] – so i am aiming for towards the last two weeks. Let me know which Friday works for you. Don’t forget that last year was bloody fab and great fun too. Forgetting the score of course.

There will be a match versus the Headingly Old Boys, away. Still fixing this for August i hope. Then we can hopefully wrap with a match in Sussex in September with some lovely folk i met in Cannes last week.

NETS this week will have to be Wednesday with some warm up before. I shall phone and organise that tomorrow morning.

I love you all, but i love the field even more. Let’s get a bit more serious please and start communicat8ing. I shall be asking some of you to become Commissars soon and be in charge of a small band of us each. That way, we can disseminate information quickly. Please let me know if you are keen, else i shall be on you this week.

Bon chance, le Cricket, comrades.
